Stargate: Every Series And Movie Ranked Worst To Best
15. Stargate Atlantis: Season 1
Like it's parent show, Stargate Atlantis was off to a slightly shaky start, but picked up quickly and delivered quality after the first few episodes. The strength of the premise, as well as bringing back fan favourite Dr. Rodney McKay from his handful of appearances in SG1 secured the show as a ratings hit after it's launch back in 2004.
At the conclusion of SG-1's seventh season, an Ancient outpost is discovered in Antarctica and could lead to the lost city of Atlantis, which is found to be in the distant Pegasus Galaxy. Here, the Ancients fled from a dreadful enemy that drove them to near extinction, a race called The Wraith. Soon after arriving, the team led by Major Sheppard accidently awake the Wraith from their hibernation and have to deal with the consequences of that mistake.
The feeling of isolation in a strange city, the new allies found amongst the Ethosians and the brilliant two parter 'The Storm' and 'The Eye' secure this season as a great one, it's only real handicap was the character of Aiden Ford, who meant well, but didn't really satisfy audiences the way that his replacement would from season 2 onwards.
