Stranger Things Season 2: Everything We Know So Far

10. Hawkins Is Under Attack

Released along with the new teaser and poster was an official synopsis of the new season:

"It’s 1984 and the citizens of Hawkins, Indiana are still reeling from the horrors of the demagorgon and the secrets of Hawkins Lab. Will Byers has been rescued from the Upside Down but a bigger, sinister entity still threatens those who survived."

Obviously that's not giving too much away, but it does fit in with other things we've heard about this season, namely that while Season 1 saw the monster come for Will, this time around it's the entire town of Hawkins that's under threat - another synopsis (revealed back in February) stated: "...a darkness lurks just beneath the surface, threatening all of Hawkins”.

Back in January, executive producer Shawn Levy told THR: "The threats to Hawkins and to our characters are bigger, darker, often times scarier." However, the focus won't just be on the small Indiana town, with Matt Duffer telling EW last year it'll venture outside, and: "The opening scene [of the premiere] does not take place in Hawkins.”
