5. Murray To The Rescue

And who better to save Hopper from the Russian threat than our own resident conspiracy theorist, Murray Bauman, who was expertly portrayed by Brett Gelman in season 3. With the news of Gelman finally being considered to be a series regular in season 4, fans have been theorizing about his involvement in the overall plot after the news was made official.

Luckily for him, our previous predictions have brought into question the authenticity of the Chernobyl disaster, and isn’t it just like Murray to be a Chernobyl denialist?

In fact, it wouldn’t be a stretch to imagine Murray listening in to as many Russian radio signals he can get his hands on as a resultant of this incident, leading him to learn that Hopper is alive and captured. It’s not like the usual suspects can travel off into the frigid cold of the Russian countryside. I mean, good luck getting off school, right? Which is why it will likely be left up to both Murray and Joyce to come to Hopper’s rescue, with Eleven possibly tagging along for good measure.

The showrunners would be insane to pass up on such an immaculate get together, especially with the relationship that was built between Murray and Alexei in season 3. Suffice to say, Murray has a bone to pick with the Russians.
