Stranger Things Season 4: 10 Crazy Fan Theories That Could Happen

Fans of the franchise might not know this, but Dark Horse Comics have been brought on to add to the lore of the extended Stranger Things universe by publishing material surrounding the lives of the other test subjects of Hawkins Lab. Known for familiar works like Hellboy and The Umbrella Academy, DH Comics agreed to this multi-year partnership with Netflix and the showrunners, who had but one restriction for the content of the tie-in comics.

This restriction was that DH Comics were not allowed to touch the subject of either Eleven, or Number One, showing that the very first test subject still has a major role to play in the continuation of the Netflix series. And with rumours circulating that season 4 might involve an investigation by Robin and Nancy into the Pennhurst mental institution, fans have been theorizing that we will finally come to meet this mysterious character.

This wouldn’t be the first time a mystery was hiding in plain sight in Hawkins, with the true question being whether Number One is going to be brought on as a friend or foe. Considering that the overarching story seems to be split between both Hawkins and Russia, there exists a possibility that Number One will become the main antagonist of the Hawkins setting.

Either way, he should be showing up shortly.
