Supergirl Season 2: 6 Ups And 3 Downs From 'The Last Children Of Krypton'

3. Snapper’s Belittling Of Kara

No matter how well people do in their jobs, it’s obscenely rare for an employee to simply be offered any job in the company by the owner. As such, Cat Grant offering Kara Danvers whatever job she wanted felt a little off last week.

Sure, Kara has done great as Cat’s PA, but would a Personal Assistant really be afforded the opportunity to go wherever they so choose in the company. Surely there’d at least be some sort of temporary testing of the waters or trial period. Not here, for Kara wanted to be a reporter, and so a reporter she was made.

Introducing Snapper Carr in a way that saw him shoot down Kara here was a brilliant move from the show. Berating her as entitled and mocking the fact that she “chose” the reporter job was something that many viewers could get behind. The real world and employment simply does not work like that, and so Snapper’s was a refreshing viewpoint as Supergirl wasted no time in addressing a potential niggle.

Of course, this whole situation also works out well in how it puts the bit between Kara’s teeth and means we’ll get to see her busting her behind to prove that she’s more than capable of working as a reporter under her trigger-tempered, no BS new boss.
