Supergirl Season 2: 6 Ups And 3 Downs From 'The Last Children Of Krypton'

2. Superman’s Pain

We can all agree, last week’s introduction of Tyler Hoechlin as Superman exceeded all of our expectations. With many of us having been burned by recent cinematic incarnations of the Man of Steel, Hoechlin’s Big Blue Boy Scout managed to get right so many of the very basic fundamentals that make Superman, well, super. This new take on comic books’ brightest shining light was one filled of hope, humbleness, heart, and was a figure who was truly awe-inspiring to those around him.

Again perfectly capturing the Superman character and all that he should be, The Last Children of Krypton was fantastic in the pain and regret that Superman had upon realizing that Metropolis had been attacked while he was kept busy in National City.

Seeing the Last Son of Krypton arriving back in Metropolis following the assault from the second Metallo was only a brief scene, but it was wonderfully done and was pitch-perfect for how Superman should and would react to an event like that.

Similarly, Supes’ reaction to Kara getting injured by Metallo early on was also perfectly played by Tyler Hoechlin as he again showed why he’s been a truly inspired choice to play the greatest superhero in comic book history.
