Supergirl Season 2: 7 Ups And 2 Downs From 'The Adventures Of Supergirl'

5. Super Banter

No, I’m not talking about the “bantz” and whatnot that’s so often thrown into conversations that includes terms like “fam” and “cheeky Nandos”. Instead, I mean the genuine, warm banter and bond between The Adventures of Supergirl’s two Supers – Superman and Supergirl.

Not only is Tyler Hoechlin’s Kal-El a real breath of fresh air, he’s also phenomenal in how he plays off cousin Kara. Obviously the Man of Steel is Earth’s prime protector here, having put in more years in the tights and cape than Supergirl, but that’s not to say that Kara is left feeling inadequate.

This take on Superman perfectly captures the warm, caring nature of the Last Son of Krypton, and you really get the feeling of family between he and Supergirl. And whilst the Big Boy Blue Scout is more than happy to provide advice and pointers to his cousin when it comes to the superhero gig, she similarly is there to offer him memories of what life was like back on Krypton.

Key to all of this unique relationship – two alien cousins stranded on a foreign planet – is the uber-cute dynamic between Hoechlin and Melissa Benoist, with the two appearing to hugely enjoy their scenes together as we all give a big “awwwww” as they engage in Super-bantz and quip wise at each other.
