Supergirl Season 2: 8 Easter Eggs & References You Might've Missed In 'The Adventures Of Supergirl'

2. Mon-El

Supergirl Gotham Mon El
The CW

Considering that it was the big cliffhanger of season one, it is surprising that the inhabitant of the mysterious pod that crashed into National City is so small a part of this episode. All we know right now is that he is a Kryptonian-like individual. Well, actually, comic fans - and those keeping up with Supergirl casting announcements - know a lot more than that. Look away now if you don’t want potential spoilers.

It has been confirmed that the stranger (as played by Chris Wood) is Mon-El, a Daxamite with similar powers to a Kryptonian. He’s got Superman’s surname, by the way, because Kal-El considers him an honorary member of his family. The red, high-collared outfit Mon is wearing here is a nod to his fairly Superman-like outfit from the comics.

When the DEO get Mon back to HQ they find out that he’s alien by the way a needle breaks on his skin. This is the exact same way that Superman’s extra-terrestrial nature was shown in Action Comics #1, his first ever appearance.
