2. The French Mistake
The fourth-wall break of all fourth-wall breaks, Supernatural's The French Mistake was an experience fans will never forget. Supernatural pushed the boundaries by sending the Winchester brothers into our universe, where their lives are a TV show played by the actors Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki. The episode poked fun at both the show and the actors, portraying Misha Collins as an obsessed Twitter user desperate for J2's attention, hinting that the show was a major flop and killing off the original creator, Eric Kripke, in the most epic way possible.
Seeing both Sam and Dean interact with that version of Misha Collins or going into "Jensen's" trailer and seeing the past acting jobs of the real Jensen Ackles brought more humour into the already bizarre episode. The icing on the cake was when fans witnessed the horrendous acting done by Sam and Dean, acting as Jared and Jensen acting as Sam and Dean. The French Mistake was a real crowd-pleaser for sure.
The French Mistake gave fans a good break from the show’s overall dark tone. The episode is almost like a 40-minute long roast highlighting both the good and bad parts of the show, plus addressing bonkers rumours that Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles don’t speak to each other when fans know they are best friends in real life.
