Supernatural: The Best Episode From Every Season

4. Season 12 - Regarding Dean

Supernatural Dean Winchester
The CW

Regarding Dean is one of the (many) heartbreaking episodes, as we slowly see Dean start to forget everything in his life, including his brother Sam, as he becomes hexed by an ancient family of witches. At first, it was small minor things like having a bad hangover where you can’t remember what happened the night before, but slowly it became more and more serious to the point if Dean wasn’t cured at all he would forget how to perform bodily functions that keep him alive.

Luckily Sam thinks fast and brings Rowena into the mix as he believes she can reverse the hex the witches cast on him. In a rather heartbreaking turn of events, we see a Dean that we’ve never seen before, one that is happy and full of life.

Since Dean cannot remember anything about ghost hunting, he wasn’t burdened with his rough childhood or another apocalypse hanging over his head. As much as we enjoyed seeing the more lighthearted and goofy Dean, it was clear that the world needed the Dean Winchester we all know and love.

In the end, Dean is cursed from the curse and kills the family that hexed him in the first place, but Regarding Dean will always be the episode that showed a Dean we could’ve had if he didn’t have to go through all the trauma he did at such a young age.
