The proposal is SURELY going to happen in Season 9, and it needs to be typically Sheldon if it is going to happen. Place all of your money on an engagement in the season finale. That would set up Season 10 nicely for a baby and a wedding, two big events that can seriously refresh a franchise in need of just that. The Big Bang Theory is growing up, the characters are changing, and that's exactly what needs to happen if it is to remain successful for years to come.
