19. The Namor Tease - Jessica Jones

Namor has been a background presence in the MCU for almost as long as it's been an extended universe. He was first hinted at back in Iron Man 2, and with rumours that he might eventually debut in Phase 4 refusing to go away, he also made a brief, suggested appearance in Jessica Jones.

Or at least we were supposed to think he did.

When Trish foolishly calls KIlgrave out on her talk show, she inspires a wave of attention-seekers and people looking for an alibi to come forward and one of her callers claims he saw a man walk out of the sea. It's no more than a tongue-in-cheek reference, but it's definitely there for a reason.

Another caller also mentions an asian man with glowing red eyes controlling him, which sounded an awful lot like a reference to Iron Fist's villain Zhou Cheng, who has a red eyed demon within him and controls minds in a similar way to Kilgrave - at least in the comics. The version we eventually got on Iron Fist was far removed from that.
