6. They Still Haven't Cast Iron Fist

Both Jessica Jones and Luke Cage were cast months before Daredevil premiered, but there's still no word on Iron Fist. Seeing as Daredevil appeared to reference both the source of his powers and even one of his villains, it's surprising that Marvel and Netflix seem to be so slow in casting this role. What's the delay? Well, one rumour doing the rounds is that while they have been bringing in people to pitch ideas, Marvel are struggling to settle on a direction for Iron Fist's show. That problem apparently stems from his mystical superpowers, and while Daredevil teased the supernatural, it was still ultimately very grounded. There were even some non-comic book readers who didn't realise Matt Murdock had superpowers after watching because they were so portrayed in such a subtle way! Don't go fretting about Danny Rand being shelved just yet though as Netflix COO Ted Sarandos has assured fans that they are in the process of finding an actor to play Iron Fist, but that it's, "always a little extra complex with Marvel in announcing things." Could it be that Marvel already have their Iron Fist? Ryan Phillippe revealed not too long ago that he's in talks with Marvel and Netflix, and given his martial arts background, that would make sense...
