The Flash: 10 Things We Learned From The Season 2 Premiere
1. Jay Garrick Is Here To Help
The Atom-Smasher is not the only new face in town, however, as a mysterious man is seen photographing Barry early on in the episode. Much like Zoom, Jay Garrick’s arrival to The Flash has been known about for some time but it’s nonetheless a massive development when he purposefully strolls into STAR Labs to warn them all about the coming danger.
Beyond the services he’ll likely offer in helping explain the conflict, the producers have made it clear that Jay’s personal relationship with Barry is going to be just as important. While Barry already has plenty of father figures in his life, Jay is meant to step in like an older brother, offering Barry plenty of advice on how to be a better hero. In return, Barry offers Jay the team and support which he’s never had.
Famous in the comics for being the original Flash, the helmeted speedster clearly has ties to Earth-2 and knows a lot about the coming conflict. So it's a good thing for Team Flash that he’s on their side.
