12. Captain Cold
It goes without saying that we didn't expect one of the Arrowverse's most compelling redemption arcs to come from one of the Scarlet Speedster's most notoriously cold-hearted rogues, but that's exactly what we got with Leonard Snart a.k.a. Captain Cold.
Originally as callous as his comic book counterpart, Snart formed an unlikely bond with The Flash when the pair struck a deal after he discovered the hero's secret identity. From there, they would help each other out in their times of need as Barry's warmth ended up melting the ice around Cold's heart and, in the process, turned him into the most unlikely of heroes.
From the strong limited use of the character to Wentworth Miller's quirky performance, it was hard not to smile whenever Captain Cold was on our screens.
