The Flash Season 2: 11 Big Questions We're Asking After 'Fast Lane'
8. So The Patty Stuff Is Definitely Done Then?
Will he tell her? Why won't he tell her? He's gonna tell... no, too late, she's figured it out, and he still won't tell her, and now she's gone. Whether or not you liked the Patty/Barry arc, or rather whether or not you wanted the show to find a way to make it work or just sever it, there's no denying it was poorly handled, and to do away with it halfway through the season just feels like a massive waste of time. There's a passing mention of the breakup this week, and indeed it's done in a fairly jokey manner, which means that Barry doesn't seem all that upset about it. Maybe he's just not showing it, but the indication here is that the Patty/Barry storyline really is done, and we shouldn't be expecting a return anytime soon (unless, of course, she ends up being someone they meet on Earth Two, which could be fun).
NCTJ-qualified journalist. Most definitely not a racing driver. Drink too much tea; eat too much peanut butter; watch too much TV. Sadly only the latter paying off so far.
A mix of wise-old man in a young man's body with a child-like wonder about him and a great otherworldly sensibility.
