The Flash Season 2: 7 Ups And 5 Downs From 'Versus Zoom'

From the opening moments, when he reaches new speeds, it was great to see how Versus Zoom showed Barry Allen to have a new found sense of confidence.

Sure, he’s been up for the challenge of Zoom before, but it’s largely been on the basis of him doing that because it was just something that he had to do, something that may not end well for him but something that had to be done nonetheless.

Here, though, we find a Barry, who having quadrupled his own speed, now felt confident in going up against Zoom because he knows he can defeat him rather than just going up against him because it was the right thing to do.

Whether Barry’s confidence was misplaced, that’s certainly questionable by the time the episode came to an end, but at least it was good to see him showing no fear and being so certain of his own powers.
