The Flash Season 3: 10 Things You Might've Missed In 'Flashpoint'
7. Kid Flash
Speaking of Kid Flash, fans have been expecting the arrival of Barry’s speedster sidekick ever since Wally West first appeared (as played by Keiynan Lonsdale) last season. In Flashpoint, we finally see him in action – and he looks like he has stepped right off the comic book page.
In line with The New 52, Kid Flash is here portrayed as African-American and retains the character’s distinctive open-top cowl – this was originally designed for the first Wally, to show off his luxurious mane of red hair.
He also continues the modern trend for Kid Flash to dislike his superhero nickname, as seen in various animated TV shows and movies. Here, however, it makes a lot of sense, as Wally and Barry are considerably closer in age than the traditional versions of the characters (who usually have a Batman and Robin type partnership).
