The Flash Season 6 Review: 4 Ups & 2 Downs From 'License To Elongate'

3. Danielle Panabaker's Direction

Killer Frost New The Flash
The CW

Danielle Panabaker's Killer Frost may not have appeared in front of the camera all that often in this week's offering, but that's because the woman herself was busy behind it. That's right, The Flash veteran directed 'License To Elongate'.

Having already directed last season's 'Godspeed', Panabaker is no stranger to using the camera to her advantage. That was episode relied on some visually-stunning shots - and that's something that she once again managed to pull off whenever necessary this time around. However, what's more striking about this offering is the fact that it's a more grounded adventure - and that allowed for more grounded camerawork.

From the invasive close-ups on Barry and Ralph's faces as they attempted to scam their way into the auction, to the stunning wide-shots of the theater during said auction - not-to-mention how the visual presentation of the episode somehow managed to radiate elements of classic spy movies, Panabaker ensured that every last shot, action and motion complemented the story that the script was telling to perfection.

'Godspeed' and 'License To Elongate' are two very different offerings, but they show two different sides to Panabaker's strength as a director. Now, let's just hope she adds some more episodes to her résumé going forward.
