4. Jay Garrick's Return

It's always a joy to see John Wesley Shipp appear on the show, so you can imagine how happy this writer was to see him return as the veteran speedster Jay Garrick.

Garrick, who hadn't appeared at all throughout Season 5, has been a recurring presence on the show since his introduction at the end of the second season. However, during his last appearance (in Season 4's 'Enter Flashtime'), he claimed that it was time for him to retire as a speedster. A huge change, no doubt, but one that the writers followed through on, as he now devotes his time to researching both the Speed Force and the multiverse.

Jay has always been a wise well of wisdom for Barry in his times of need, so it made total sense that our Scarlet Speedster would reach out to Earth-3's in this particular situation. And it was nice to see a different, more relaxed side to him as it's clear that retirement has been good to him.

Speaking of which...
