Reports have also surfaced to suggest that Season 2 will offer viewers plenty of current world issues dropped into the insane alternate universe that the entire show hangs upon.
Before Spotnitz left his role, he described the series as a sci-fi production, leaving a lot of scope to reveal interesting angles of the world and explore how the alternate timeline may share plenty of similarities with our own.
It would certainly add an interesting layer to the show and open it up to increased popularity. While the entire concept of a Japan-Germany occupied USA was a highly attractive part of the show (IN THE SHOW), it would be fascinating to see how our real-world issues could be addressed in that environment.
