The Mandalorian 2.3 Review - 7 Ups And 1 Down From Chapter 11

4. The Return Of Bo-Katan

If you'll permit me one (one) scream, *ahem*... AAAAAAAAAA.

We all knew this was coming from the casting leaks reported last year, but that doesn't take away from just how cool it was to see Bo-Katan in live action, and with Katee Sackhoff reprising her role from The Clone Wars and Rebels no less.

There had been some worry among Rebels fans that Lady Bo may have been killed by Moff Gideon when he brandished the Darksaber at the end of Season 1, given she was previously the last to wield the blade, but she's alive and well here after the events of Return of the Jedi. She's also on a mission, tracking down and stealing Imperial shipments to mount an assault on Gideon's forces, retake the Darksaber, and reunite Mandalore under her rule.

Joined by two other Mandalorians (one played by WWE star Sasha Banks), Lady Bo steals the episode and is sure to get fans of Rebels and The Clone Wars especially giddy. And for those Star Wars fans unfamiliar with the animated shows, the episode does a great job of bringing them up to speed with her backstory, just as it did with the introduction of Star Wars: Aftermath's Cobb Vanth in Chapter 9. It's great to see The Mandalorian deftly pull these characters from the expanded mythos, and with the promise of more characters to come, things are only going to get better.

Katan ends her appearance in the episode determined to take the fight to Gideon, so expect her to resurface later in the season where she'll hopefully reclaim the Darksaber that rightfully belongs to her.
