The OA Season 2: What Does The Ending Really Mean?

11. Steve Travelled With Them

The OA Prairie
Netflix

When they arrive into our dimension, knowing who is who can be a little confusing. Some of the cast are themselves, but some of the cast are still their characters.

Hap has entered the body of Jason Isaacs and Prairie has entered the body of Brit Marling, as these are their dimension three counterparts. This means that Jason Isaacs is portraying Hap who is pretending to be Jason Isaacs. It's all very meta.

Due to the accident on set, Prairie/Brit is taken away in an ambulance with Hap/Jason tagging along. We also see Steve running after the ambulance - this is recurring imagery in the series as we saw Steve run after Prairie been taken away in an ambulance in the Season 1 finale.

When Steve catches up with the ambulance, he climbs inside and refers to Jason as Hap. This means that he is also still his character and Steve transported into the dimension with them, entering into the body of Patrick Gibson (his actor counterpart). This is also the first time that Steve has met Hap.

So what happened to Homer? More on that soon.
