The Office: Every Season Ranked Worst To Best
2. Season 5
Two words; Stress Relief.
This two-part masterpiece, even if it was incorporated into a less than stellar season than this, is such a prolific 21 minutes that it would stake the claim for any season being this high on the list. That cold open sequence alone is still unmatched by anything since, and the Super Bowl that it premiered after was probably more uneventful than these just these few minutes, never mind everything that ensues after!
Despite this season having the most universally beloved episode in the entire 201 episodes that aired, season 5's quality neither diminishes nor dwindles at any point. The short-lived plot of Michael opening his own self-referential paper company to compete with Dunder Mifflin after he announces just "how high he can fly" is nothing short of idiocy confused with resilience and it makes for some of the most zany situations possible.
The highlight outside of everything that was mentioned prior, is the subplot of Jim and Pam's journey that has been playing out in the background - since the beginning - being taken to new heights when the season beautifully culminates in the unexpected, but definitely inevitable, announcement of Pam becoming pregnant with Jim's baby.
Television doesn't get better than this... or does it?
