The Office: Ranking Every Main Character Worst To Best
5. Andy Bernard
Andy Bernard is a very divisive character, and by extension, so is the actor Ed Helms. He specialises in a certain kind of character that viewers either love or hate, but this works about him as a performer - especially in this role. There is a niche which Andy Bernard fills so well, and that's the annoying and overly enthusiastic guy you find aggravating, but also likeable.
While a lot of his behaviour was pretty detestable, especially towards the beginning and latter end of the show, he always managed to capture something unique, no matter whether you loved or hated it. His romances with the staff members also brought about some great conflict, with his dynamic alongside Angela acting as a perfect narrative for Dwight. Additionally, his long-form connection to Erin was completely enthralling and truthful.
In the end, Andy acted almost like a lighter version of Michael - even taking over his position when he departed. He was an annoying and troublesome character, who you shouldn't like but often did. However, unlike Michael, he was mostly just irritating.
