The Simpsons: 10 Best Martin Prince Moments

8. My Geode Must Be Acknowledged

Part of what makes The Simpsons so great is its ability to tell such hilarious stories in very grounded surroundings. In fact, one of the first things you might point to in the post-Golden Era is that this no longer held true, and instead stories became wilder, more outlandish and bounced the family around to new settings all the time.

Back at the show's peak though, most stories revolved around simple ideas, with a much bigger chunk of Bart & Lisa’s scenes taking place at school. With them not replacing Mrs. Krabappel and now needing to deal with no Taylor for Martin, Sherri, Terri, Lewis and Wendell, we might see Springfield Elementary even less.

Some of Martin’s best work came in the classroom, like his indignation at Show & Tell when his geode was not acknowledged. There’s so many great Show & Tell bits, with Milhouse sharing his toy horsey and Nelson’s tomato paste. Martin’s shrill demand might just top the lot though.

His book report on The Old Man And The Sea, complete with Hemingway cosplay, is right up there as well. His love of learning will be sorely missed.
