The Simpsons: 10 Best Nameless Characters
4. Cayman Islands Banker
The life of managing offshore accounts for tax-dodging celebrities sure looks luxurious. Sometimes too luxurious to remember to maintain client confidentiality.
In “Bart the Fink”, this gravel-voiced fat cat is too busy fanning himself in paradise to refrain from instantly blabbing about his “customer’s secret, illegal account", thus setting in motion Krusty's problems with the IRS.
Upon hanging up the phone, he realises that "Oh crap!" he shouldn't have said he was a customer, "Oh crap!" he shouldn't have said it was a secret, and "Oh crap!" he certainly shouldn't have said it was illegal.
We never find out anymore about this man, nor do we ever need to.
It's a testament to the show that it can create a character this wonderful and only use him for 22 seconds, and the fleeting nature of his appearance makes it even more special.
Ending with a sigh of “it’s too hot today”, cut-away jokes don’t get much neater than this.
