The Simpsons: 10 Funniest Episodes Ever Made

3. Itchy & Scratchy Land (Episode 4, Season Six)

Anything bold enough to parody the DisneyWorld phenomenon is usually going to get results, but when The Simpsons did it with Itchy & Scratchy Land, they struck gold.

Without a doubt one of the show's most densely-packed episodes (and featuring some of the most memorable jokes to have ever featured on the show), the plot here is as simple as they come: the family take a trip to Itchy & Scratchy Land, a nightmarish rendering of everything wrong with DisneyWorld, only to wind up being chased by killer robots.

The jokes here, all so keenly observed, still ring true. Who doesn't laugh knowingly as Homer tells his family to remember that they're parked in the "Itchy Lot," only for the camera to pan out to reveal that there are only two endlessly sprawling lots named "Itchy" and "Scratchy"? Or how about when Bart fails to find his name on a souvenir in the gift shop moments before being confronted by several children named "Bort"?

These jokes stay with you, every one of them packed into the runtime. With Itchy & Scratchy Land, nothing can possi-bligh go wrong. Sorry: that's meant to be "possibly."
