10 Members Of The Simpsons Family You Forgot Existed
10. Clancy Bouvier
Starting off with Marge's side of the family tree, right on the main branch you find a character that many fans don't even realise has had several appearances/mentions on the show: Marge's father, Clancy Bouvier. Okay, right, Marge's dad. Wait, he was actually on-screen in The Simpsons? In case you've forgotten, and no doubt have, Clancy first appeared on The Simpsons in Season 2's The Way We Was, when Homer shows up at the Bouvier family home to take Marge to prom. Of course, the whole Artie Ziff thing happens, but Homer does in fact meet Clancy, who states "From what she's told me, I'm sure you're a solid citizen." Maybe he was being sarcastic. He didn't appear on the show in any prominent way again for years, and fans likely forgot all about him; his next on-screen appearance came in season six, in Fear Of Flying. In this classic episode, it's revealed that Clancy was one of the first male flight attendants. There, viewers are introduced to a younger Clancy, seen through the eyes of his youngest daughter. He's been mentioned off and on a few times more over the years, but never had as memorable a moment as that.
