And now we come to the Simpsons latest and perhaps most desperate plea for ratings. Last year Fox announced that a major character would be killed off in the Season 26 premiere. This certainly did get people talking and the internet was set ablaze with speculation over who would receive the death sentence. Then the episode title was revealed as "Clown in the Dumps" and people seemed convinced that Krusty would be killed off. To be fair he was already high on the list of most likely suspects. The idea of a TV clown was already dated in 1989. Then came the reveal that the character chosen to die was Krusty's father Rabbi Hyman Krustofsky. A character who most prominently appeared in one episode all the way back in 1991, voiced by Jackie Mason, a man viewers under 40 had to Google afterwards. Needless to say it was anticlimactic and left many fans cold and many skeptics smirking smugly to themselves, having known all along that this was all just a desperate attempt to get people watching again. Come on Simpsons! You're better than this!
As a wrestling fan I've flown across the Atlantic for the last five years specifically to attend WrestleMania (28 and 30) as well as TNA, ROH, Evolve, Chikara and most recently PWG.
I may have a problem!
But if you're reading my work then you probably love wrestling too, so lets focus on that!
