We're holding our collective breath on next months crossover special. Granted the Simpsons only just came off a huge crossover with Family Guy and that didn't live up to many fans' expectations. But that was a Family Guy episode, with the Simpsons guest starring, meaning it was Family Guy's ratings. Now it's time for the Simpsons to play the host to another show to boost their own ratings. After all, that's what crossovers are at the end of the day. Still we hope this works. We don't want to jump to any conclusions before the episode even airs, but we're hoping, no, praying that this is a success, because honestly, our expectations are low. Futurama is off the air - for good this time. It was a fantastic show during it's first four seasons, even managing to carve out it's own identity, separating itself from any Simpsons comparisons. But that was years ago! Since the shows resurrection on Comedy Central, it's been hit and miss, with some genuinely great episodes mixed in with a lot of forgettable ones. Also consider the fact that it's been 10 years since Futurama was popular enough to warrant a crossover with the Simpsons, who themselves hadn't been any good since five years before that! This should be a dream crossover, but instead we just can't help but feel that it has arrived too late for anyone to care.
As a wrestling fan I've flown across the Atlantic for the last five years specifically to attend WrestleMania (28 and 30) as well as TNA, ROH, Evolve, Chikara and most recently PWG.
I may have a problem!
But if you're reading my work then you probably love wrestling too, so lets focus on that!
