The Simpsons: 10 Most Overlooked Episodes Ever

6. The Bob Next Door

Season 21 - Episode 22 Sideshow Bob turning up is always a special moment on The Simpsons, but his later episodes haven't gotten the attention they've deserved. Yes, the Cape Fear spoof is still potentially the zenith as far as Bob is concerned, but frankly, there hasn't been a truly bad episode featuring Krusty's former sidekick (the closest was "Day of the Jackanapes" from season 12, which as we've pointed out, was not a great season for the show, and it might be the low point for Bob as well - but it wasn't truly bad). "The Bob Next Door" from season 21 is overlooked because it's a newer episode, but it features a fantastic plot, if gross, plot triggered by a "Face/Off" style face switch. Bob switches places with the Simpson's new neighbour in order to eliminate Bart once and for all, and winds up taking Bart to The Five Corners (a point where five states meet) to do away with him, as firing a bullet in one state, through another, into a third, would in his logic prevent a murder charge from being laid.
