The Simpsons: 10 Most Overlooked Episodes Ever

5. Behind The Laughter

Season 11 - Episode 22 Another episode that is somewhat out of character for The Simpsons, which is why it's often overlooked. "Behind the Laughter" was a parody of VH1's Behind the Music series, and instead of delving into the background of a band, gave a behind the scenes look into the fictional, off-camera lives of The Simpsons, treating them as if they were real actors playing themselves. It's not exactly cannon, but it works. Lines like "I want to set the record straight. I thought the cop was a prostitute" and "Fame was like a drug, but what was even more like a drug were the drugs" from Homer made this one of the strongest season finales in years, but it's mostly forgotten in top ten/top twenty-five lists because it's so different.
