The Simpsons: 10 Springfield Characters You Totally Forgot Existed

9. Gerald Ford

Over the years, Homer Simpson has managed to develop a small group of very close friends. The likes of Moe, Barney, Lenny, Carl, and even Ned Flanders would do absolutely anything for him, but he has made his fair share of enemies at the same time.

One of his most famous rivalries came when George Bush Sr. moved in literally right across the street. The former President and Homer simply didn't get on, with their relationship, and Bush's stay in Springfield, ending in a huge brawl in the sewers.

However, Bush leaving opened the door for another former President of the United States to move in, Gerald Ford. Immediately he and Homer hit it off thanks to their love and beer and football, but to say he lived on Evergreen Terrace, Ford was rarely seen again.

He made an appearance on TV with Krusty in 'Simpsoncalifragililisticexpiala(Annoyed Grunt)cious', and Homer kept a photo of the two of them that he showed to Frank Grimes, but for a US President that lived on the exact same street as the Simpson family, he basically just faded away from memory.
