The Simpsons: 10 Underrated Episodes No One Talks About

3. Marge Gets A Job

The Simpsons Marge on the Lam
20th Television

This is the second episode on this list that is based around Marge, and it's easy to get the feeling that she just isn't appreciated as much as she should be. Though her best role is arguably as a supporting character to Homer's crazy adventures, she does have the ability to step up and carry an episode on her own.

When she gets a job at the power plant to bring some extra money into the house for the family, it is nothing short of classic Simpsons comedy. Her dynamic with the enamoured Mr. Burns is something that we've rarely seen otherwise, and is incredibly entertaining - not to mention Tom Jones' excellent guest appearance.

But that's not to say that Homer isn't on top form in this episode as well. His attempts to fix the sinking house with a Troy McClure video is Homer at his absolute best, and his idea of showing Marge a good time is exactly why we love him so much.

This is genuinely a top season four episode, and though not quite on the same level as the legendary 'Last Exit to Springfield', it certainly doesn't deserve to rank second to last on IMDb, ahead of just the Simpsons clip show episode.
