Plot: Lisa wins the Springfield elementary spelling bee and the following state spelling bee which earns her a place at the Spellympics. Homer meanwhile has become dangerously addicted to a new Krusty burger sandwichthe Ribwich.

Couch Gag: The couch is a Whac-A-Mole game with Homer getting hit
Plot: After Mr Burns goes Bankrupt he asks Lisa for help in becoming rich again. On the condition that he has changed his evil ways Lisa agrees and they start to recycle cans. Soon enough Mr Burns opens a recycling plant but Lisa soon discovers hes making an all purpose compound made out of squashed sea life. Meanwhile Lenny is put in charge of the power plant.

Plot: Mr Burns is jealous of the affection billionaire Arthur Fortune receives from Springfield so hires Homer to help win peoples love. Mr Burns, Homer, Groundskeeper Willie and Professor Frink end up trying to capture the Loch Ness Monster.

Couch Gag: The Simpsons are made out of gingerbread and the living room is made out of candy. Homer takes a bite out of Barts head
Plot: During an accident in a traffic jam Maggie is thrown out of the window and over a bridge. Fortunately Moe, who is about to kill himself, catches Maggie and is declared a hero. Moe and Maggie quickly form a close bond and spend lots of time together much to the annoyance of Homer and Marge.
Best Gag: A hot woman stops to look at Maggie who is out with Moe: ''Aw! What a face, she looks just like you'' ''You callin' her repellant??''

Couch Gag: The Simpsons are set onto the couch like bowling pins
Plot: After faking his death (to get out of work) Homer reunites with his mother who he thought had died decades before. This episode ends with Homer sitting on his car watching the stars in one of the Simpsons most touching moments ever.
Best Gag: ''Mom, there's something you should know about me. I almost always spoil the moment (a pelican lands on Homer's head and spits out a fish into his pants)...I'm sorry''
