The Simpsons: 8 Episodes From The Bad Seasons You Need To Watch
2. Brick Like Me
There are few things as timeless as Lego, but The Simpsons can certainly claim to be one of them. This episode definitely marked a risk for The Simpsons, who still pull in huge ratings despite their very vocal detractors these days. However, it was a risk which paid off in spades with one of the most charming episodes produced in years.
There's still some portions in regularly animated Springfield, with a creepy Comic Book Guy taking on the role of the villain perfectly. Showing him 'embellishing' the Lego Katniss statue with extra bricks sealed that deal.
It all began as a couch gag too. The Simpsons, who have been very experimental with the couch gag post-movie, wrote to Lego asking if they could use their intellectual property. Lego then replied suggesting a whole episode collaboration instead. There's some smart cookies at Lego these days, given the Renaissance of relevance through movies and video games.
Speaking of Cookie, the Asian realtor (number one on the West side!) doesn't seem to be present here, but if your favourite is even a smidge more popular than her, chances are you'll see them Legoised.
