The Simpsons: Every Treehouse Of Horror Ranked Worst To Best

2. VI. Attack Of The 50-Foot Eyesores; Nightmare On Evergreen Terrace; Homer3

The Simpsons The Shinning
Fox

Playing like a morality tale warning against the evils of large-scale corporate influence, Attack Of The 50-Foot Eyesores sees Springfield's giant mascots all come to life randomly thanks to an electrical storm and Homer pissing off Lard Lad by stealing his giant donut. It's always donuts.

The second segment is superior, with a classic and much-remembered Nightmare On Elm Street parody, which has forever tainted Groundskeeper Willy's image as a harmless (if grumpy) workman. To have that bleed out of a Treehouse is a very good indication of the episode's success.

And Homer3 is so great it feels cliched (though in reality this was the convention starter), dropping Homer into a 3D world (and basically letting the Emmy-award-winning animators show off) and then into the real world. That bit looks a tad dated, but it's still a great segment all the same.
