The Sopranos: Ranking Every Main Character Worst To Best

9. Bobby Baccalieri

The Sopranos Junior
HBO

Everyone could use a pal like Bobby Bacala. He’s kind, warm, and friendly, a great dad, and eventually becomes a vital part of the Soprano organisation. Bobby starts life as a joke, a schlubby, less than bright peripheral gangster, but winds up married into the family and a high ranking member of the crew before his untimely death.

He’s, relatively speaking, one of the more morally upstanding characters, tasked with looking after an ailing Uncle Junior and carrying out collections rather than perpetrating acts of violence. All the same, Bobby is not to be trifled with. A dedicated family man, he confronts the hot tempered Paulie after the latter endangers his kids’ well being, and defends Janice’s honour in a winning effort, fist fighting with Tony.

An even tempered mafioso whose laid back vibes belie his voice of reason qualities, Bobby is one of the few Sopranos characters you could imagine having a beer with and living to tell the tale. His arc takes him a fair distance from where he started, but he retains his basic humanity.
