9. Couple's Discount - Season 9 Episode 15
In this episode, the staff try to come to terms with Andy Bernard returning to work after going AWOL for a series of weeks. Not only did he leave his post as office manager without notifying anybody from corporate, but he also left his girlfriend Erin behind in a truly selfish act.
In his absence, the thriving office atmosphere turned sour within moments when Andy burst through the door wearing a dodgy Hawaiin shirt, donning a stringy beard and annoyingly grinding a percussion instrument whilst singing "Aruba Yaruba". Not only did he not offer an apology to Erin, but he also took all the credit for the branch doing so well during his absence.
What sucked: Although there is a highly entertaining B story about Jim and Pam drunkenly trying to find somewhere on the premises to ugh... shall we say... Dunder each other's Mifflins, this episode showed that Andy could not carry the show in the way Michael did and is better off playing to his strengths as a bit-part character.
What doesn't suck: Dwight's monologue about Real Andy returning from holiday as Fake Dwight and the possibility of an epic, confusing showdown.
