The Walking Dead: 10 Most Disappointing Episodes Ever
6. Cherokee Rose (Season 2, Episode 4)
As mentioned previously, season 2 of The Walking Dead was slow and drawn out to a fault. Episode 4, Cherokee Rose is when the season really started to get plodding and tedious. The series has worked best when it blends its characters with the horror of the undead and this entry widely misses the mark.
Following Carl's recovery from his gunshot wound, Rick's group is now fully settled on Hershel's farm, cue a collection of bland sequences that rarely move the plot forward.
By far the episode's weakest moment is the walker in the well; the group finds a bloated zombie clogging up the water supply and need to pull it out. Their solution? Lower Glenn Rhee down as bait to haul the monster out with a rope; it's one of the most cringe worthy and non-sensical moments of the entire series. The tension is so artificial and stilted; yet if they removed this sequence, there would have been no undead engagement for the entire episode.
At best, Cherokee Rose establishes the bond between Glenn and Maggie; at worst it places the former in an utterly nonsensical situation. Upping the episode count while limiting the show's budget severely damaged The Walking Dead's second season and episode 4 is proof positive of that.
