5. Condensed Series
The Walking Dead is a tremendous series, and virtually every episode is enjoyable to some degree, but there were times when you feel the drama is being stretched out too thinly to make up the numbers in a season.
Fear certainly won't have that problem, with just six episodes in the first season; that's particularly short, even for a spinoff series. This will prove to be a stern test for the writers who must ensure that every second of the show is pitch-perfect, and not wasted.
Much depends on the success of the show as to how long future seasons will be - The Walking Dead started off as a six-episode Season 1, now look where it's at. If Fear is a smash hit, it would be nice to see 10-episode seasons packed full of drama than expand it further, although hopefully the more condensed future of television and spinoff nature should stop it getting too overblown.
