Fear The Walking Dead: 10 Reasons It'll Be Even Better Than The Original
4. No Source Material
A lot of the top productions in TV and film have been based around detailed source material. Game Of Thrones is the most obvious major example of this, with sprawling lands, countless ruling families, and a backlog of history dating back to the start of time.
The source material is likewise immeasurably important to The Walking Dead and provides the writers with an enormous foundation to build upon, but is it necessary for Fear? Quite possibly not. TWD was based on Robert Kirkman's comic book series though the story has veered left and right, with new characters added, and others omitted.
With all that meddling out of the way, the writers can now focus their attention on packing episodes with current, outstanding drama without the restrictions of source material - Fear is set well apart from the comics. TWD worked, but now fans have got to grips with the world, Fear could go in any direction without people getting lost along the way.
