The Walking Dead: 10 Things That Could Happen Next (According To The Comics)

You mean more people are gonna die? Surely not!

Whilst the sprawling zombie epic of Rick Grimes and his rag-tag gang of diverse survivors struggling through a post-apocalyptic Atlanta is a story that's best known the general public through the hit AMC show, which reached record audience viewing figures for its recent season five finale. But The Walking Dead actually originated in comic book form, before spinning off into games, TV shows, books, and forthcoming TV show spin-offs. The Walking Dead comic books are way ahead of the TV series, having a good few years on the small screen adaptation, with writer Robert Kirkman and artist Charlie Adlard taking Rick and the rest into all sorts of crazy, interesting scenarios. About half of which have so far actually shown up in the show, and half have been left behind. The series has been selective in what story beats, arcs and (perhaps most crucially) deaths it faithfully adapts from the comics, and which it spins off into new, unique directions. Did you know Andrea is still alive in the comic? And Daryl doesn't even exist? In the broader strokes, though, the TV show is following the basic plot the source material has set out. Season five ended with the group hanging out in the Alexandria Safe-Zone, a very important locale in Kirkman and Adalrd's story, and one which has so far been faithfully rendered. So, if you want to know what season six has in store, go back to the source €“ you'll get a hint at who's head is next on the chopping block, at least. Here are ten things that could happen next on The Walking Dead (according to the comics).
