The Walking Dead: 10 Things To Expect When Season 9 Returns

4. The Fractured Communities Will Once Again Be Drawn Together

In the comics, there isn't much of a fracturing between Hilltop, Alexandria, the Saviors, and the Kingdom as has been shown in the series. In the books, the fair had become an annual tradition and the communities regularly worked and traded with one another.

For reasons that have yet to become apparent, the communities in the series are fractured and the Saviors are all but wiped out, but the promise of a fair seems to be on the horizon with the hopes of bringing them together.

Because Alpha uses the fair to instill fear in the survivors and establish her boundaries, it seems likely the show will have the fair towards the end of season nine. This will help to accomplish two things: bring the groups back together and allow for Alpha to sever some heads.

The external threat of the Whisperers will also help in reunifying the communities, which makes sense seeing as they will once again need to band together to combat their new shared enemy. Expect the Whisperers to effectively reunite the communities and bring former friends back to one another, but it will definitely come at a cost.
