The Walking Dead: 10 Worst Things Rick Grimes Has Ever Done
1. Going Back On His Word And Killing Surrendered Saviors
Now, a lot of the entries on this list so far have been dark, violent and sometimes plain wrong, but for the most part they were done with good intentions at heart. The same, however, can't be said for Rick's lowest moment, which came in Season 8.
This was in the era mentioned earlier, when the Sheriff went completely off the rails following Carl's death. The fourteenth episode of that season finds him and Morgan hunting down a bunch of Saviors, only to get captured. With walkers about to storm the place, Rick pleads with his captors to free them so they can help fend off the zombies, promising to spare their lives and let them escape together.
Eventually the Saviors agree after Rick gives them his word he won't kill them, saying that it's the most trustworthy thing he has, and then the two join the fight as former enemies fighting side by side. One of the Saviors even saves Rick's life by shooting a zombie about to get the drop on him.
Of course, then Rick reveals he was bluffing the whole time, and he and Morgan butcher the Saviors in cold blood. It's war and all, but there's nothing heroic in murdering surrendered enemies who just saved your life.
