A comic fan-favourite, Heath is one of the characters who suffers the most as a result of All Out War. During an attack led by Negan on Alexandria, the character is caught in the crossfire and has his leg blown off by a grenade. While that's bad enough, his girlfriend and the town's only doctor, Denise, has been bitten on the arm by a zombie and is succumbing to the infection.

Knowing that amputating her limb and saving herself would almost certainly doom Heath as there'd be no-one else capable of operating on him, Denise chooses to patch up his leg instead and manages to keep him breathing. By the time she's finished the surgery though, her own infection is beyond repair, and she dies shortly after.

While Denise is dead in the show, Tara could be a prime candidate to take on her role in this arc, as her and Heath were given the chance to become close on their supply run last season.

Heath has been conspicuously absent from the series while Corey Hawkins filmed 24: Legacy, but with that project finished, the character could return to the show just in time to meet his grisly fate in season 8.
