The true joy of The Walking Dead is watching its characters grow, and Eugene has one of the show’s most admirable arcs. Fast-talking, intelligent and about as quirky as any character there's ever been, his early story saw him become one of the most jarring and unsympathetic people on the show.

But once he accepted the fact he needed to change, he took the opportunity to improve himself. He was the catalyst for the defeat of Negan, and following Rick’s “death” he had become one of the most important community members.
