Fearlessly independent, a strong fighter and rightfully suspicious of new faces, Michonne's slow integration with the Survivors was a beautifully crafted storyline which led to some iconic relationships.

With her pet walkers and near-unrivalled ability to survive on her own, Michonne’s talent for reading people and her reluctance to get attached to the core group cemented her as the ultimate survivor and an all-round badass in no time.

Watching her shed her pessimistic and untrusting ways and become a key member of the gang was very moving, and her eventual growth in a community leader and protective mother in Rick’s absence made her arc all the more compelling.

Here's to hoping she returns to her family soon.
