8. First Time Again
The season six premiere, First Time Again started things on a major high, using flashbacks and present day action to introduce the community and audiences to a threat unlike any other they've seen before.
Picking up after the season five finale brutally killed of Pete and Reg, the episode follows Rick as he leads an attempt to draw an enormous herd away from Alexandria. The flashbacks reveal Rick and Morgan's rocky reunion, and the dislike some of the locals have toward Rick and the Survivors.
Granted, a lot of what's seen watches like step-by-step exposition, but it's mostly necessary, highlighting how life in Alexandria has changed and how everyone's moving on from the horrors of season five. It also adds heaps of poignancy to Glenn and Nicholas' relationship, which is one of the season's best accomplishments.
